I am scheduled for surgery December 17th. Please keep me in your prayers, but especially pray for my wife and the church.
I have already started scheduling men to fill the pulpit. Dr. Joe Bryant, an evangelist from Tennessee will be preaching December 21st. Brother Joe is a great man of God and a powerful preacher. The church is blessed to have someone of his caliber filling in.
I have also talked with Brother Tony Finney about our annual winter revival. He plans on coming January 5 – 8 even though I may not be able to attend. He has been coming to our church for 7 years now is very comfortable holding revival without me there. I told him that my folks wouldn’t really care if I was there knowing that he was showing up! Our folks love Brother Tony and he is always a help.
I will be talking with several other men about filling in for me while I recover. I am most thankful for men like Brother Bill Ferguson who is always faithful to fill in for me. He is a blessing and Community is privileged to have him and Elva as part of our church. My son Josh will also be filling in for me and I’m grateful that the Lord is using him in our ministry.
Well, I have some more studying to do for Wednesday night service. Just wanted to drop a note to anyone who might stumble by.
